1. Environmental Strategic Plan Professional Development Work on Educating for Sustainability
Gunston has devoted many full faculty work sessions towards educating staff about Educating for Sustainability and providing time for departments to review curricula and plan new instructional activities to achieve our goal of having EfS integrated into all classes in an authentic manner. Working sessions included:

4. Baltimore Ecosystem Study
Christie Grabis, Gunston’s Assistant Head of School, attended the Baltimore Ecosystem Study’s teacher institute in the summer of 2015 and into the 2015-2016 school year. The program emphasized urban ecosystems, data analysis, and communication of scientific findings.

5. Environmental Leadership For Independent School Leaders
Emily Beck and John Lewis have co-facilitated this conference since John attended the CBF’s Maryland Principals course in 2015 (3 years). Each course 48 hours of PD work plus extensive time on Emily and John’s end to prepare for the annual conference.
